London School of Ikebana

Welcome to the London School of Ikebana in Shoreditch. Our classes provide an introduction to Ikebana through the lens of the Ohara School, one of the most renowned and historically significant schools of Ikebana in Japan.

Join us for weekly classes, seasonal workshops, and cultural events that celebrate both tradition and innovation.

We offer 2 hour classes which provide a taste of what Ikebana is all about as well as longer 4 and 8 week classes for anyone aiming to gain a deeper understanding of Ikebana and obtain qualifications from the Ohara School in Japan.

Ikebana Ohara Style

Founded in the late 19th century by Unshin Ohara, the Ohara School is celebrated for its pioneering role in bringing nature closer to human life. It emphasizes natural beauty, seasonal awareness, and spatial harmony.

With a focus on landscape-inspired arrangements, especially the Moribana style, the Ohara School encourages a deep sensitivity to the materials and the surrounding environment.

Our Philosphy

Whether you are new to Ikebana or looking to deepen your existing practice, our classes offer a rich foundation in both technique and artistic sensibility.

Guided by the Ohara School’s principles, you will learn not only how to arrange flowers, but how to see them—and yourself—differently.

Let each stem be a lesson, and each arrangement a moment of harmony.
